Intern, Human Resources

The Intern is primarily responsible for the areas of Human Resources and General Administration. Primary duties including, but not limited to, creating and maintaining filing systems, maintaining overall office organization, assisting with human resource management, payroll processing, benefits and compensation management, answering telephone calls from clients and customers, sending and receiving faxes and providing general support for the Associate Director of Administration.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Create internal and external communications and reports as needed including, but not limited to:
    1. Policy & Procedures
    2. Company Organization Chart (as needed)
    3. Office Contact Sheet (as needed)
    4. New Hire Packets
    5. Benefit Enrollment Packets
  2. Maintain all employee records, including personnel file and electronic HRIS records
  3. Assist with processing payroll, cash receipts and donations
  4. Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
  5. Provide timely and appropriate feedback to supervisors and team members and supervisors regarding internal project challenges and perceived external barriers
  6. Organize the office to ensure a clean and safe environment
  7. Coordinate meetings and conference calls, including preparing meeting rooms, contacting attendees & facilitating their attendance, ensuring that required informational materials and equipment are prepared
  8. Organize all equipment, hardware, software and keys; maintain a complete inventory of all items
  9. Analyze and document current processes, identify improvement opportunities, develop new processes and execute on recommendations
  10. Create policies, procedures and workflows for the administration division to improve operations and streamline processes
  11. Pick-up mail, packages and newspaper as needed
  12. Carry out other duties, tasks and projects as assigned


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Must have or be pursuing a B.A. or B.S.
  • Candidate must have a strong interest in learning about the Human Resources or Administration field
  • Strong customer drive and dedication to quality and success
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills are required
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter and able to work well independently
  • Able to work collaboratively and effectively while handling multiple projects on various timelines in an extremely fast-paced environment while maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Flexible with work hours and be able to work on evenings and weekends as needed
  • Strong acumen for the health care industry, analytical thinking skills and a strong and dedicated work ethic are required
  • Candidate will develop innovative ideas, display quality outcomes and be able to work with the entire COPE Health Solutions’ team


Technical Skills:

Extremely high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Project Management) and experience with internet research.
