What is the Re-entry Program for Foreign Trained Registered Nurses?

Health Professions Re-entry Program for Foreign Trained Registered Nurses is designed to assist U.S Residents/Citizens holding a nursing degree from a foreign country complete the requirements necessary to become licensed through the Board of Registered Nursing in the state of California to practice nursing in the Los Angeles area. Scholarships and sponsorships are not currently provided to individuals who are located in foreign countries; however feel free to contact barlow@copehealthsolutionshws.org for further information about how we may potentially help you.

Requirements for Program:

  • Must be a U.S. Resident/Citizen holding a nursing degree from a foreign country
  • Must have a letter from the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) that states the missing coursework requirements of Obstetrics and/or Psychiatry

How it Works:

  • Participants will be scholared through their Obstetrics and/or Psychiatry coursework requirement at a partner nursing program recognized by the Board of Registered Nursing
  • Participants receive NCLEX preparation to assist with successful completion of licensing examination
  • Participants receive assistance with employment as a staff RN at a partner hospital

How to Apply:

  • Limited class spots are offered every Fall (August - December) and Spring (February - June) semester of each year
  • Informations sessions will be held in June and December of each year (two months prior to the start of each semester). Following the Information Session, all interested applicants must complete the 5-Step Interview Process to be considered for acceptance
